BLACKSBURG, Va. (March 6, 2010) - Competing against a quality field ETSU junior sprinter Jasmine Ingram (Fredrick, Md.) posted a new school record time of 55.16 in the 400m finals Saturday at the Final Qualifier Relays inside the Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Va.
The Fredrick, Maryland native finished fifth overall in the 17-person field. Ingram posted the second fastest time in Heat 2, while Asia Washington - who was running unattached - won the event with a time of 53.82.
Ingram, who held the previous 400m record, ironically set that mark earlier this season at Virgina Tech.
Over on the men's side senior sprinter Duronal Monal (Belle Grade, Fla.) posted the eighth fast time in Heat 1 of the men's 60m dash with a time of 6.86. The 2010 Atlantic Sun Conference Indoor Track and Field MVP and Most Outstanding Track Performer followed that up in the semifinals with the 14 quickest mark overall at 6.96 seconds.
Unfortunately, Monal failed to qualify for the finals with the time being set at 6.76.
