Three Bucs earn weekly A-Sun Track & Field Award

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 26, 2011) - The ETSU's track & field teams picked up three Atlantic Sun Conference weekly awards, announced Wednesday by the league office, as Ifrish Alberg (Paramaribo, Suriname), Jarrod Burton (Bastian, Va.) and Lexie Burley (Johnson City, Tenn.) all earned awards. 
 
MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
Ifrish Alberg, ETSU (Sprints - Fr. - Paramaribo, Suriname)
First Career A-Sun Track Athlete of the Week award
Set personal records in the 55m and 200m with times of 6.33 and 22.12
Finished second in the short-distance sprint and fifth in the 200m
Ranks first in the Atlantic Sun in both events; 61st in the nation in 60m dash
 
MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
Jarrod Burton, ETSU (Throws - Sr. - Bastian, Va. - Exercise Science)
Second A-Sun Field Athlete of the Week award
Claimed first place in the shot put and second in weight throw at 2011 Mountaineer Open
Top toss in shot put marked 54'10 and 58'10 in the weight throw
Ranks 58th in the shot put and 63rd in the weight throw
 
WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
Lexie Burley, ETSU (Jumps - Fr. - Johnson City, Tenn. - Exercise Science)
First A-Sun Field Athlete of the Week award
Claimed fourth at the Mountaineer Open in the triple jump
Posted a mark of 37'7.25
