HIGH POINT, N.C. (April 1, 2017) – The ETSU Track & Field program ended day two of competition at the VertKlasse Meeting in High Point, N.C. on Saturday afternoon with three personal bests recorded.
To start off the day junior Hadyn Borghetti-Metz (Rogersville, Tenn.) finished second in the men’s 800m with a time of 1:56.08. Borghetti-Metz was just .08 off the time of the first place finisher from St. Andrews University.
On the women’s side, two personal bests were recorded on the track as junior Tim Easley (Columbus, Ohio) clinched a personal best time of 15.46 in the 100m hurdles to finish 14th. Sophomore Starr Graham (Alpharetta, Ga.) ran a personal best time of 25.35 to finish seventh out of 92 runners in the 200m.
Junior Simeon Roberts (Greeneville, Tenn.) rounded out the day for the men on the track placing second in the 800m with a time of 1:54.00. Roberts finished ahead of runners form three Southern Conference foes (Western Carolina, Wofford and UNCG).
In the field at the VertKlasse Meeting, senior Brett Squibbs (Rock Hill, S.C.) finished sixth in the men’s pole vault with a mark of 4.92m (16-1 ¾).
The Buccaneers will enjoy a week off before heading to Cullowhee, N.C. for the Benyon Sports Catamount Classic, April 14-15.
• Sophomore Tyler Houston finished 10th in the men’s 100mH with a time of 15.10
