Congrats to Kyra for earning her second athlete of the week honors for her performance at the Liberty Elite Invitational,” said ETSU Director of Track and Field George Watts. “She is undefeated in all of her 60-meter hurdle races and is ranked 34th in the NCAA. She will have a lot on her plate at next weeks conference championship, and hopefully, she will defend her title in her specialty.”

Furthermore, Atkins also competed in the 200-meter dash and finished third with a time of 24.78. Atkins’ time was the third best in the SoCon this season.

Furman’s Frank Lara and Samford’s Tray Oates earned the SoCon men’s indoor track and field athletes of the week, while Western Carolina’s Simone Williams was named the women’s field award winner.
