|POSITION||Assistant Coach, Men's and Women's Sprints, Hurdles, and Relays|
Brandon Morton enters his third season as an assistant track and field coach at East Tennessee State University. Primarily Morton will oversee the men’s and women’s sprints, hurdles, and relays, along with all other aspects of the program.
In his four seasons as assistant coach, Morton has coached ETSU student-athletes to eight all-conference performances, six individual conference championships and three conference championship records.
Morton brings a lot of success to the Buccaneer program, having spent three years as an assistant at Campbell University. While at Campbell, Morton coached 13 Atlantic Sun Conference Champions, nine NCAA Regional qualifiers and 61 A-Sun All-Conference performers. Morton also saw 11 school records fall while on the Camels coaching staff.
In his first season with the Bucs, Morton helped guide the Blue and Gold to their fourth Atlantic Sun Indoor Championship, and garnered 13 all-conference performers and four NCAA Regional qualifiers. Morton saw Mike James (60m hurdles), Ifrish Alberg (100m), and Tim O’Dell (400m Outdoor) capture individual A-Sun Conference titles, as well as the men’s outdoor 4x400m relay team. On the women’s side, Jasmine Ingram set new ETSU records in both the indoor/outdoor 400m, while the 4x400m relay (outdoor) and 4x100m relay also broke new school marks.
A former track stand out at Winthrop, Morton was a two-time NCAA regional qualifier and conference champion as well as being named a Big South All-Conference performer seven times.
Morton graduated from Winthrop with a B.S. in Sports Management in 2005 before earning his masters in Exercise Science from Campbell in 2010.
