Women’s Triathlon notches a pair of top 10 finishes in first-ever competition

Bucs show well in their opening race of their inaugural season

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Sept. 5, 2016) – The ETSU women’s triathlon team competed in its first-ever race Monday morning in Naperville, Ill. at the Central Regional Qualifier. Out of 27 athletes that competed, the Bucs had a pair of top 10 finishes.

“I am proud of the team’s effort and attitude,” said ETSU Head Coach Janine Pleasant. “This was our first competition in our first year competing. We have our feet wet now and know what we need to work on.”

McKenzie Killian (Bluff, City, Tenn.), who is the lone senior on ETSU’s roster, posted the best finish for ETSU finishing sixth with a time of 1:08.12.0. Johnson City, Tenn. native Chloe Ford was the team’s other top 10 finisher coming in eighth place with a time of 1:08.27.5.

The Bucs will be back in action Sept. 18 when they compete at the Anchor Splash Triathlon in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
