(September 28, 2020) -- The East Tennessee State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics’ What’s Important Now (WIN) committee released plans Monday for a 12-part video series Jerseys For Social Justice in which Black ETSU student-athletes and coaches share their experiences as Black Americans and discuss the biggest issues facing the Black community today.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 27, 2020) – Beginning on Monday, Sept. 28, the ETSU Football team will begin full practice sessions, as stated by Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Scott Carter and ETSU Head Coach Randy Sanders.
Johnson City, Tenn. (Sept. 23, 2020) — Olivia Cunningham (Knoxville, Tenn.) is a sophomore outside hitter on ETSU’s volleyball team. Last season, Cunningham played in 25 of the team’s 31 matches. En route to winning the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year, the Knoxville native led all SoCon freshman with 3.36 kills per set and was third in the conference. She logged 40 aces and 25 assists. Cunningham concluded the 2019 season with six double-doubles.
OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (Sept. 22, 2020) – The ETSU Men’s Golf squad wrapped up the first competition of the new season on Tuesday, carding a 2-over-par (290) to claim sole possession of second place at the 2020 Scenic City Collegiate. The event was held at the famous Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tenn. The Bucs, who finished 20-over-par (884), entered the final round three strokes off the lead but could not catch UAB as the Blazers finished six strokes ahead of the Bucs.
OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (Sept. 21, 2020) – Taking part in its first competition since March, the ETSU Buccaneers Men’s Golf team is positioned comfortably in third place at 18-over-par following the first two rounds of the 2020 Scenic City Collegiate in Ooltewah, Tenn. The Bucs played 36 holes of golf in the opening day, beginning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. and rolling straight into the second round.
ETSU Athletics Announces Jerseys For Social Justice Video Initiative
