East Tennessee State University (ETSU) offers a unique opportunity for those interested in pursuing a career in athletic training or healthcare related field. Through close mentorship from the sports medicine staff, student interns will have the opportunity to learn about Emergency Action Plans, Environmental Concerns in Athletics, First Aid & Wound Care, Taping & Bracing, Cryotherapy, Thermotherapy, Electric Stimulation, Ultrasound, Massage, Stretching, and different components of Rehabilitation and Evaluation. ETSU offers a comprehensive internship experience, with the goal of ensuring a well-rounded experience for student interns. Interns will be given responsibilities and be incorporated as members of the Sports Medicine Team. Staff members are highly knowledgeable and passionate about teaching others. Under their guidance, interns will truly become a part of the Buccaneer Athletics family.
