Trinese Fox

Assistant Coach

Trinese Fox was named ETSU assistant coach in July 2022.

Fox spent the past two seasons at Norfolk State where she was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.

During her time at Norfolk State, Fox made an immediate impact as the Spartans saw a 12-win improvement from 2020-21 to 2021-22, including a first-ever appearance in the WNIT. Norfolk State went 17-12 a year ago, including an 11-3 record in MEAC play, resulting a share of the regular season title. The Spartans were one of the best defensive teams in the country last season as they ranked third in field goal percentage defense (.341), fourth in turnovers forced (22.7), fifth in steals per game (12.3) and sixth in three-point field goal percentage defense (25.6). In addition, Fox recruited and coached Camille Downs, who won first team all-MEAC and MEAC Defensive Player of the Year honors, along with Deja Francis, who was a first team all-MEAC selection as a point guard.

Prior to arriving at Norfolk State, Fox served as an assistant coach for a pair of teams in the Boo Williams Summer League in Hampton. In 2018-19, Fox was an assistant coach at Claflin University. In her one season at Claflin, Fox coached guard Dashia Jackson, who earned CIAA all-rookie honors, as well as Ashley Fields receiving CIAA Defensive Player of the Year accolades.

Fox began her coaching career at Lenoir Community College in 2013-14, where she assisted with daily practices, developed physical fitness, and implemented a team strength & conditioning program. Fox also held a stint as an assistant coach for the varsity girls team at Nansemond River High School in nearby Suffolk from 2014-16. Fox led the Warriors to a pair of conference championships before making the moving to Christopher Newport University.

Fox spent two seasons at CNU, and after a year with the program, she played an integral role in the Captains making a run to the NCAA DIII National Semifinals.

Fox was a four-year member of the South Carolina State basketball team, where she earned third-team All-MEAC honors as a senior in 2012-13. She helped the Bulldogs finish with a 20-win her senior year, while also being a member of the MEAC All-Academic Team. Fox received a bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2013.
