Former Buccaneer student-athlete Kendra Whitehurst joined the ETSU women's basketball program as the Graduate Assistant Coach for Sport Performance in July of 2021. She enters her second season with the program.

Whitehurst was a multi-purpose athlete on ETSU's track & field team led by Coach George Watts and was a three-time SoCon Honor Roll member. While competing for the Bucs as a heptathlete, specializing in jumps, Whitehurst pursued her bachelor's degree in exercise science and graduated in 2021. She stayed with the athletics department after graduation, working with the women's basketball team while pursuing her master's in sport science and coaching education. She expects to graduate with her master's in December 2023.

The Atlanta, Ga. native has also coached in other realms of athletics, including fitness training and physical therapy, and is CSN and CSCS Certified. She also owns certifications in First Aid, National Federation of High School Association Coaching Track & Field (Course 1) and is involved in numerous community service and professional projects.
