Jim Ed Warden pitched a 3-hit, complete game shutout Tuesday to lead the Golden Eagles to a 1-0 victory over the visiting East Tennessee State University Bucaneers. The victory pushed the Golden Eagles to 4-9 overall, while the Bucaneers fell to 4-11 on the year.
Warden pitched all nine innings, allowing only three hits. He walked five batters and struck out eight.
Donnie Sharp took the loss for the Bucs. He threw a complete game, giving up one run on six hits. The rookie hurler walked three Golden Eagles and struck out five.
