In the bottom of the sixth, Plumlee worked his way out of a bases loaded jam as he struck out Justin Sanders and got Shane Simpkins to ground out to second.
Lipscomb tied the game in the bottom of the eighth on a Caleb Joseph RBI single through the right side to make the score 1-1. Later in the inning, Lipscomb scored the go ahead run on a swinging but down the first base line by Simpkins, and score two more runs on an ETSU error to make the score 4-1.
