AUBURN, Ala. (Feb. 25, 2008) - Auburn scored five runs in the first inning as the Bucs were able to come back losing, 12-2, Monday afternoon at Plainsman Park in Auburn, Ala.

ETSU (0-4, 0-0) gave seven unearned runs as freshman Bo Burton received the loss giving up ten runs in a little over three innings walking four and striking out one. Auburn (4-0, 0-0) stymied the Buc offense spreading nine hits over nine innings as ETSU stranded seven.

The Bucs got on the board first for the second straight day on a Bart Roark (Mountain City, Tenn.) sac fly to left field with the bases loaded driving in Troy Mendez (Roswell, Ga.). Auburn scored five runs in the bottom of the first on a Roark error and a Tony Caldwell bases loaded double to make the score 5-1.

In the second inning the Bucs cut into the Auburn lead on a Chris Rankhorn (Gallatin, Tenn.) grounder bringing in Danny Petro (Atlanta, Ga.). Auburn's Hunter Morris hit a two run homerun in the bottom of the second to extend the lead to 7-2.

Auburn scored two more in the fourth inning on a pair of RBI singles by Brian Fletcher and Mike Bianucci. The Tigers got another run in the eighth inning on a Ben Jones solo shot to right center.

The Bucs return to action on Wednesday at 3 p.m. as they will host Tennessee Tech in the home opener at Cardinal Park.
