ETSU Baseball holds annual Scout Day
Tuesday, September 25, 2007

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 25, 2007) - With over a dozen major league scouts in attendance, the East Tennessee State baseball team displayed their talents at the team's annual Scout Day, Tuesday afternoon from Cardinal Park in Johnson City, Tenn.

In one of the best Scout Day turnouts in recent history, the Bucs showcased their baseball skills in several drills. First, each Buccaneer player ran a 60-yard dash for the scouts in attendance. Next, outfielders threw from right field to third base and to home and infielders took pre-game infield practice. In the end, when all ETSU hitters finished with batting practice, the scouts were able to catch a sneak peak, as the Bucs concluded the day with an inter-squad scrimmage.

"We have a few draft eligible players and in my opinion some really exciting younger ball players," added head ETSU baseball coach Tony Skole. "Some of our guys can become prospects in the near future, as long as they commit to their development."

Buccaneer fans can catch a preview of the 2007-08 ETSU baseball team this weekend, as the annual Blue/Gold game will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at noon inside Cardinal Park. Please visit for more information on Buccaneer Baseball and all other athletic news.
