JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 28, 2009) -Sophomore Paul Hoilman (Johnson City, Tenn.) added to his post season accolades as he was named to the 2009 Louisville Slugger All-American Third-Team announced by Collegiate Baseball on Thursday.
"I am extremely proud of Paul and the season he had," said head coach Tony Skole. "He made it look easy at time, but what he did was quite remarkable."
Hoilman finished the season hitting .380 with 19 doubles, 17 home runs, scored 55 runs, and drove in 66 while slugging an Atlantic Sun best .740. The First-Team All-Conference selection was named the A-Sun player of the Week and the Southeast Regional Player of the Week by CollegeBaseballInsider.com during the season.
"After a tremendous freshman campaign, to be able to back it up with a great sophomore season is really impressive," Skole added. "Paul is blessed with tremendous ability, but he is also a great example of what one can accomplish through commitment and good old fashioned hard work."
The All-American selection is the second in as many years for Hoilman, who was named a Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American in 2008. Hoilman is one of only three A-Sun players selected to the 2009 Louisville Slugger All-American Teams including A-Sun Player of the Year Jeremy Cruz of Stetson and A-Sun Pitcher of the Year Chad Jenkins of Kennesaw State.
