JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Dec. 3, 2013) – Want to show your pride in ETSU athletics and have a chance to win a prize pack full of unique Buccaneer gifts? Then take out those smart phones and get creative.

The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced Tuesday afternoon a special “selfie” contest via its social media sites at Facebook and Twitter. The contest will ask Buccaneer fans to take their best “Buc’d Up” selfie, and then display their ETSU Pride by tweeting the photo to @ETSUAthletics on Twitter, and using the hashtag #BacktheBucs.

Contest entries will be accepted from Tuesday, Dec. 3 until Friday, Dec. 13. Following the entry deadline, all selfies will be placed into a photo gallery on the ETSU Athletics Facebook page. Fans will then vote for their favorite selfie by liking the images on Facebook, and those likes will then be used to represent a percentage of the voting for the winner.

Another percentage of the vote will come from a special four-person judging panel. That group of judges will include a current ETSU student-athlete, a current ETSU head coach, a member of the ETSU faculty/staff, and an ETSU community supporter. The names of the judges will be released at a later date.

The winner will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 18^th, and will receive a great prize package that will include:

• The winner’s choice of one of the player banners used in the concourse level during the Freedom Hall games earlier this year. The banner will be autographed by the former Buc great as well. The banners include Tim Smith, Greg Dennis, Skeeter Swift, Marsha Cowart, Courtney Pigram, Katie Beck, Calvin Talford, Keith “Mister” Jennings, Tommy Woods and Tom Chilton.

• Dinner for two at Buffalo Wild Wings in Johnson City.

• Tickets for two to the ETSU vs. Valparaiso men’s basketball game on Dec. 29.
