ETSU (22-25, 9-9 SoCon) has won its last six SoCon games after sweeping its series against VMI and last weekend’s set at Samford … The six-game win streak is tied for the sixth longest active conference winning streak among Division I teams.

The six-game conference win streak marks ETSU’s longest since winning seven straight in 2013 – the same season the Blue and Gold won the 2013 Atlantic Sun Championship … The sweep at Samford was the first time ETSU swept a road series since taking three from Northern Kentucky from April 5-7, 2013.

During this six-game win streak, the Bucs are outscoring their opponents, 71-39, while outhitting them by over 100 points, .379-.255 … Of the 88 hits, 31 have gone for extra bases during this run – 19 doubles, one triple and 11 home runs.

Overall, ETSU has homered in its last eight games and has 63 on the season, which ranks sixth nationally … In addition, the Blue and Gold ranks fourth nationally in slugging percentage (.507), seventh in hits (539) and 10th in batting average (.316).

Sophomore catcher Hagen Owenby (Knoxville, Tenn.) is 13-for-25 (.520) with two doubles, four home runs, 11 runs scored and nine RBI over the last six SoCon games … Overall, Owenby has reached base safely in his last nine games.

Christian Bailey (Kingsport, Tenn.), Blake Rowlett (Clarksville, Tenn.), Lace Mays (Ridgely, Tenn.), Jeremy Taylor (Fayetteville, Ga.) and Aaron Maher (Brentwood, Tenn.) are all hitting over .400 during this win streak … Bailey is hitting .455 (10-for-22), Rowlett is 10-for-23 (.435), Mays is hitting .429 (12-for-28), Taylor is 11-for-26 (.423) and Maher is hitting .400 (10-for-25).

Rowlett – who hit .545 (6-for-11) with one double, home run, four runs, four walks and six RBI last weekend at Samford – has reached base in his last 27 games … The Buccaneer third baseman has also hit safely in his last 13 games and in all 18 SoCon games.

ETSU’s bullpen is 4-0 with a 3.08 ERA (13 ER/38.0 IP) in its last seven games … The Buccaneer relievers have 35 strikeouts and are limiting the opposition to a .200 batting average over this span.

Left-hander Jamin McCann (Kingsport, Tenn.) is 4-0 with a 1.26 ERA (2 ER/14.1 IP) in his last four appearances.

Ryan Simpler (Lewes, Del.) finished all three games last weekend at Samford and earned two saves … The sophomore right-hander ranks second in the SoCon in opposing batting average (.237) … Senior Lee Haeberle (Hendersonville, Tenn.) is sixth in the conference in strikeouts (68).

Wofford dropped two of three to league-leading UNCG last weekend and enters the series at 27-23 overall, 9-9 in SoCon.

The Terriers have a pair of batters hitting over .300, while junior infielder Brett Hash leads the team in home runs (8) and RBI (47) … Derek Hirsch leads the club with a .345 batting average and McClain Bradley – who is hitting .316 – paces the Terriers in stolen bases (18).

Thursday’s starting pitcher Matthew Milburn leads the SoCon in strikeouts (85), ranks third in innings (77.2), is tied for second in wins (6), and ranks eighth in ERA (4.29).

Eighteen of Wofford’s wins have come at home.
