ETSU baseball looks to salvage series tomorrow at 1 p.m.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 25, 2023) – Despite 14 hits on Saturday, the ETSU baseball team came up on the wrong end of a 14-6 loss in the second game of a three-game series with Samford at Thomas Stadium.

The Bulldogs had just one more hit than ETSU with 15 on the day, but four of those were home runs and two of those came in the form of back-to-back three-run homers by John Anderson. Anderson went on to finish 3-for-5 with seven RBIs.

Meanwhile, ETSU had six players turn in multi-hit days, including a 3-for-5 day for Cameron Sisneros (Littleton, Colo.) to follow up his three-hit, two-homer performance from yesterday. Garett Wallace (Sanford, Fla.) and Ryan McCarthy (Knoxville, Tenn.) both had homers in the final inning to attempt a late rally.

Joining Sisneros and Wallace with multiple hits today were Tommy Barth (Brecksville, Ohio), Cody Miller (Rocky Point, N.Y.), Nick Iannantone (Plainfield, Ill.) and Ashton King (Knoxville, Tenn.). Miller added an RBI double and a stolen base to his belt, while King had a triple that later resulted in an RBI single by Barth.
