2010 Season: In his first full season throwing side-armed, Burton posted a team best 4.22 ERA after going 9-6 with five saves in 31 appearances including four starts ...had 54 strikeouts and only 17 walks in 74.2 innings of work ... picked up win’s against North Florida, Kennesaw State, Stetson and Mercer ... was masterful at the Atlantic Sun tournament going 8.1 innings against UNF in the 7-5 win over the Ospreys ... tied his career high for strikeouts with six twice against Tennessee Tech (4/28) and UNF (5/26) ... received Atlantic Sun All-Academic honors.
2009 Season: Saw action 18 games making four starts on the bump ... threw 37 innings for the Bucs with an ERA of 11.68 ... had a tough first half of the season, but turned things around after changing his delivery from over the top to a side-arm delivery ... picked up his only win of the season against USC Upstate (4/18) throwing 1.1 innings of scoreless relief ... Burton’s best start of the season came against Tennessee (4/21) on the road as he went 5.2 innings allowing only two earned runs against the Vols in a Bucs 9-8 win ... received Atlantic Sun All-Academic honors.
2008 Season: Made 12 appearances for the Bucs ... pitched 31 innings with an ERA of 9.58 ... against Austin Peay (3/5), Burton pitched 6.0 innings allowing only two runs while striking out six ... received Atlantic Sun All-Academic honors.
High School: Four-Year letterwinner at Dobyns-Bennett ... was named first-team all-district ... had a 9-2 record with a 1.83 ERA with 83 strikeouts in 65 innings pitched his senior year.
