This is Excellence Every Day…

In recent history, ETSU Athletics has established itself as the championship standard in the Southern Conference. The standard of Excellence Every Day has become the foundation of our culture. Our student-athletes, coaches, staff, campus, fans, and region have all played an important role in the development of this culture. This unwavering support and passion has allowed ETSU Athletics to accomplish many historic and transformational initiatives while delivering a first-class experience for over 400 Buccaneer student-athletes.

There has never been a better time to be an ETSU Buccaneer. Now is the time for all of us to be "All Hands on Deck," as we push through the financial challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Buccaneers ask you to support our student-athletes with us through your financial commitment to ETSU Athletics. Your gift will allow us to press through the challenges of budget reduction, revenue shortfalls and competition uncertainty.

ETSU Athletics was able to balance the 2019-20 fiscal year budget, thanks to the incredible support of the Best Fans in the Southern Conference, coupled with conservative measures our athletic program enacted in the spring of 2020. As we begin the 2020-21 fiscal year, new budget challenges have been presented by the pandemic, which impact the department’s ability to generate up to $4.5 million of annual revenue (28% of the annual budget). The areas of impact include:

  • Game guarantees
  • Ticket revenue
  • Annual giving revenue
  • Game-day revenue (parking/concessions/etc.)
  • Special events
  • Sponsorship revenue
  • NCAA distribution revenue

Thank you for making the ETSU Bucs Excellent Every Day…

The "All Hands on Deck" Game Plan

1. Budget Conservation | 2. Fundraising | 3. Reserve Utilization | 4. Asset Leverage

An aggressive and creative plan has been enacted to generate the necessary support for our Buccaneer athletes. ETSU Athletics has enacted unprecedented budget conservatism. At this time, over $1,374,000 of budget reductions have been implemented. The utilization of financial reserves and asset leverage will be employed. Coupled with this robust fundraising initiative, your commitment can make the difference.
