Quoting Head Coach Paul Hamilton:
On Furman Win:
I was very proud of our team and our coaches. The players went out and implemented the scheme and put us in position to win.
It proved that our football players have a lot of character. At this point we are very enthusiastic about the remainder of the year.
Todd Wells stepped up and took the game into his hands. He showed his physical and mental toughness and I am proud of him for doing that.
Rahim (El Amin) made a great play at the one-yard line. I give a lot of credit to him and all of the people associated with ETSU football.
I would like to thank the people of theTri-Cities and Southwest Virginia for their support and the attention that has been given to our team.
On Georgia Southern:
They come to play everyday. You cannot demeaner this Georgia Southern team. They beat an outstanding Appalachian State team. They take a lot of pride in their football team, football program, and university. Their student body, administration, and fan support is great, and it will be a huge factor for us to overcome.
They are very capable of winning the national championship again.
On Adrian Peterson:
He is the best fullback to line up in that position in that type of offensive style that I have ever seen. He has great vision, and the ability to catch the pitch and take off. His heart is as big as this dome. Their type of offense is like a time bomb going off. You hope to get them in a down-and-distance situation in which they are not used to. If they get a 2nd and 5 situation, they will be rolling.
On Georgia Southern Defense:
Look at the stats, they simply swarm the ball. When they are able to rush the passer, they are tough. Also when they can line up and protect the run, they swarm around you.
