Head Coach Paul Hamilton:

On the VMI game (38-3 win on Sept. 16):

"Our team came out and took control early. I hoped that we would come out and play with enthusiasm since it was our home opener."

"We're doing some good things on both sides of the ball and with the kicking game."

"However, we've got to develop more consistency with our kicking game and we can be good on both sides of the ball."

"I am not pleased with the amount of turnovers and amount of penalties we have received."

On senior quarterback Todd Wells:

"Todd Wells is playing as well as any quarterback I've ever coached."

"He's (Wells) using all of the people that we have available and he is an effective runner for us. He is making things happen for us in our running game. Todd is playing at a high level right now."

On the offensive line:

"Our offensive line is playing with pride right now and has an opportunity to be a great part of our team. But we have a lot of work to do on the offensive side of the ball."

On this weekend's game at Western Carolina:

"As I look at our team right now I think that we have a strong team as we face a good Western Carolina team this Saturday night."

"We are walking into a tough situation. I know WCU has to be hungry for a win after losing this past Saturday night."

"They've got up to eight Division I transfers, and we know that we are walking into a very hostile situation in Cullowhee."

On another road game: "It will be a good game for us to win. If you can get back on the bus with a conference win in this conference, we can breath a huge sigh of relief."

Senior linebacker Lee Neisz:

"Our team chemisty is a lot stronger this year."

"As a team, we want to win every game, it's not any different this year. We always want to win. If you don't go in to win the conference championship, the you don't need to play."
