JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 4, 2013) – As plans continue in preparation for the start of its new football program, the ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will host the first of many gatherings for former football players on Saturday, April 13 inside the ETSU/MSHA Athletic Center.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 2, 2013) – During a news conference today, East Tennessee State University President Dr. Brian Noland announced plans to start a football program that could be on the field by the fall 2015 semester.

(April 2, 2013) – ETSU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Richard Sander announced Tuesday that former University of Tennessee head football coach Phillip Fulmer will be joining the Buccaneer program to facilitate planning and help launch the institution’s new gridiron team.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 2, 2013) – Along with several major announcements on Tuesday regarding the start of a new football program, the ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics also unveiled plans for a new Kickoff Fund which will immediately begin raising dollars for the upstart program.
In recent months, several important decisions have been made regarding the possible return of football on the ETSU campus. While there have been many news reports related to these decisions, there are still many questions regarding the process that will be taking place in the next few weeks and months.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 27, 2013) – The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced Wednesday the names of six former Buccaneers who will comprise the 2013 induction class to the ETSU Athletics Hall of Fame.
On Sunday afternoon Mike Smith will lead the Atlanta Falcons onto the field inside the Georgia Dome when they host the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship and battle for the right to represent the conference in Super Bowl XLVII.
