JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (July 9, 2014) – For more than a decade, the Buccaneer Football and Friends Foundation, Inc., kept the dream of football alive at East Tennessee State University. In the fall of 2015, the BFFF’s members will see those dreams become reality when the Buccaneers kickoff a reinstituted football program against Kennesaw State on Sept. 3, 2015.

With this in mind, the ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced Wednesday that the BFFF recently approved and signed a gift agreement with the ETSU Foundation to transfer all dollars raised by the BFFF to the ETSU Kick-Off Fund. Those funds – which were raised over the last 10-plus years – will be used for a collection of football-related needs, including but not limited to the football strength and conditioning areas and locker facilities located within the ETSU/MSHA Athletic Center.

“We want to thank BFFF President Jerry Robertson, the BFFF’s leadership, and all of its members for the loyalty they have shown over the last 10 years, and the generous monetary support that they have provided for our future Buccaneers,” said ETSU Senior Associate Athletic Director/COO Scott Carter. “The passion of the BFFF kept hope alive for ETSU football, and we will always be grateful for those efforts. Now, we are looking forward to having members of the BFFF join our Kick-Off Fund so that we can work together to make Buccaneer football successful.”

Former BFFF members are now being encouraged to join the ETSU Kick-Off Fund and to become season-ticket holders for the upcoming 2015 season. Tickets may be purchased for the 2015 football season today by calling 423-439-3878, and donations to the Kick-Off Fund can be made by calling 423-439-5858.
