JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Dec. 18, 2014) – The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced Thursday the Buccaneers’ 2015 football schedule, a slate that will feature six homes games and four road matchups, and includes contests against NCAA Division I FCS opponents such as Charleston Southern, Mercer and Gardner-Webb.
“Securing our 2015 football schedule took a great deal of teamwork between our coaching staff and our administration, and I appreciate everyone’s diligence in that effort,” said ETSU head coach Carl Torbush. “The ability to put together the correct pieces into the scheduling puzzle speaks volumes about their hard work, tenacity and love for ETSU.
“We are excited with the opportunities and challenges our 2015 schedule will bring to this young ETSU football program.”
As was announced in the fall of 2013, the Bucs will open their 2015 season at home on Thursday night, Sept. 3 against Kennesaw State, in what will be the first game for both programs. The Bucs will then play their second straight home game when they welcome in Maryville College on Thursday, Sept. 10th.
ETSU will then hit the road to Charleston, S.C. for a matchup with Charleston Southern on Saturday, Sept. 19th before returning home for back-to-back games against Emory & Henry on Saturday, Sept. 26th and St. Francis on Saturday, Oct. 3. The game against Emory & Henry will coincide with Homecoming festivities.
The Bucs will then face their future Southern Conference opponent Mercer, when they travel to meet the Bears in Macon, Ga., on Oct. 17. ETSU will then be back in Johnson City for a Saturday, Oct. 31 visit from Warner.
ETSU’s final three games of the season will consist of visits to Robert Morris on Saturday, Nov. 7 and to Gardner-Webb on Saturday, Nov. 14, followed by the final game of the season at home on Nov. 21 against College of Faith.
