Game will kick off on April 11^th at 2 p.m., and admission is free

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 1, 2015) – The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics released details Wednesday regarding the upcoming Mountain State Health Alliance Blue-Gold Spring Game which is schedule for Saturday, April 11^th at 2 p.m., inside Kermit Tipton Stadium.

Gates will open at noon with admission to the game and parking free to the public. In addition, a special “Buc Walk” to welcome the team to the field is scheduled for 1 p.m. The game, which will be formatted as a traditional intra-squad scrimmage, will have the feel of a fall game day according to ETSU’s Senior Associate Athletic Director/COO Scott Carter.

“We want this to be an opportunity for our fans – and even our staff – to see what the environment and experience will be for our games this fall,” Carter said. “And we are so pleased to have the support of Mountain States Health Alliance, because it’s these partnerships with local businesses and supporters that really make a difference for our program. We expect this game to be a great opportunity to get a sneak peak at what the future holds for us all.”

Several details related to the April 11^th game were released by the department and include:

• A special Kids Clinic will be held immediately following the game, as ETSU’s players and coaches will interact with the youngsters that attend. Children from 8^th grade and younger will be allowed to participate.

• Former football players, trainers and staff will be honored throughout the game and are encouraged to attend. These former players will form a tunnel prior to the game as the new team takes the field at approximately 1:55 p.m., and there are also special plans to recognize these individuals at halftime.

• Parking in areas located around Kermit Tipton Stadium will be free to the public, and fans are encouraged to arrive early and participate in tailgating activities.

• MSHA President and CEO Alan Levine and Tri-Cities automobile magnate Steve Grindstaff will act as honorary head coaches for the event.
