JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (July 21, 2018) – As ETSU football approaches kickoff for the 2018 campaign, ETSUBucs.com will count down the days by featuring the program’s 21 seniors on the site and via social media throughout the summer months.
Today marks 42 days until the Buccaneers open the season against Mars Hill on Saturday, Sept. 1 at William B. Greene, Jr. Stadium. Senior tight end and No. 42 Evan Wick (Hallettsville, Texas) is the 13th player to be featured in this special segment.
Wick played his first season with the Buccaneers after transferring to ETSU from Blinn Community College. The Hallettsville, Texas native played in all 11 games in his first season with the Bucs, while finishing the campaign with six receptions for 75 yards. Wick, a SoCon Honor Roll member, hauled in at least one catch in four straight games (Sept. 9-30), and collected his first catch with the Bucs at No. 1 James Madison on Sept. 9. The Buccaneer tight end tallied a season-best 25-yard reception vs. No. 8 Wofford on Oct. 28. Wick also had receptions against The Citadel, Mercer, Furman and Samford.

Along with a six-game home schedule that features matchups with Mars Hill (Sept. 1), Furman (Sept. 22), Chattanooga (Sept. 29), Gardener-Webb (Oct. 6), Western Carolina (Oct. 27) and Samford (Nov. 17), the Bucs will also hit the road for the program’s first-ever trip to Neyland Stadium to take on Tennessee on Sept. 8.
