“Things to Know” for ETSU vs. Gardner-Webb

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 4, 2018) – The first-place Buccaneers improved to 4-1 overall, 3-0 in SoCon play with their win over Chattanooga in The Rail rivalry game last week. The team – which is off to its best start since 1996 – will now welcome non-conference opponent Gardner-Webb to Greene Stadium for the annual Homecoming game at 3:30 p.m. this Saturday.

Here are some quick “Things to Know” presented by Citizens Bank to help fans prepare for game day.

As fans make their plans for the game, the ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has released its Top 5 “Things to Know” presented by Citizens Bank.

Fans are also reminded they can access information regarding game day activities by visiting ETSUBucs.com and clicking on the Game Day Central link located on the football page, or by downloading the ETSU Game Time App for Apple and Android devices. Current users of the Game Time App are encouraged to update prior to the season to get the latest information on Buc athletics

No. 1 – Blue Out: Saturday’s game has been designated a “Blue Out” and fans are asked to wear their favorite blue ETSU gear for the game with Gardner-Webb.

No. 2 – Buc Walk: The Buc Walk on Saturday will begin at 1:15 p.m.

No. 3 – Student ticket information: Student tickets will be released online the Saturday prior to each home game. Students can also pick up tickets in person by visiting the Student Organization Resource Center (SORC), which is now located inside the second floor of the CPA, from Sunday through Thursday at noon on game week. Standard hours for the services desk are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; and Sunday, 2-5 p.m. More student ticket information is available by clicking here and scrolling to the bottom of the Game Day Central page. No. 5 – Tailgating, Pepsi Live Stage and Ford Super Screen: Parking lots on campus open at 8 a.m. for tailgating on game days. Click here for the game day parking map. In addition to regular tailgating fun, the Pepsi Live Stage and Ford Super Screen will be available in Lot 21 on game day. The Pepsi Live Stage concert featuring Wyldeheart and Folk Soul Revival begins at noon.

No. 6 – Clear Bag Policy and Enhanced Security: ETSU has a clear bag policy for all home football games inside William B. Greene, Jr. Stadium. In addition, new security procedures including metal detectors and security wands will be employed at entry gates. Fans are asked to arrive early to insure access to the stadium.

No. 7 – Men's Basketball to Hold Open Practice: The ETSU men's basketball team will hold an open practice session Saturday inside the Center for Physical Activity (CPA) on campus beginning at 11:30 a.m. The CPA, which is located next to William B. Greene, Jr. Stadium, will provide a perfect location for fans to be able to take in the open practice, even if they are on campus for tailgating events prior to Saturday’s Homecoming football game against Gardner-Webb at 3:30 p.m. The practice is scheduled to conclude in time for fans to participate in the Buc Walk, which is scheduled for 1:15.

No. 8 – ETSU Volleyball hosts Furman on Saturday night: Following the football game on Saturday, the ETSU volleyball team will host Furman at 8 p.m. inside Brooks Gym … Volleyball games are free to the public and fans who bring their football ticket to the game will be entered to win two sideline passes to the ETSU-Western Carolina football game on Saturday, Oct. 27.
