ETSU remains ranked for sixth straight week in major polls

Bucs stay at No. 17 in AFCA FCS Coaches’ Poll; No. 19 in STATS FCS Poll

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 12, 2018)– Coming off its bye week, the ETSU football team remained ranked in the top-20 in both major FCS polls, which were released on Monday.

The Buccaneers, who have now been ranked for six consecutive weeks, stayed put in both the AFCA FCS Coaches’ Poll and STATS FCS Poll. ETSU is No. 17 in the coaches poll and No. 19 in the media poll.

ETSU enters its regular season finale against Samford at 8-2 overall, 6-1 in Southern Conference play. With a win on Saturday, the Bucs will earn the outright SoCon championship and league’s automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs.

The Bucs are one of 12 FCS teams with at least eight wins, while their eight victories are the third-most in program history.

Kickoff for Saturday’s conference championship is set for 1 p.m. inside Greene Stadium.
