Free admission to all teachers and children 12 and under at ETSU football game vs. Delaware State

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 14, 2021) – The East Tennessee State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Tuesday they will be holding Teacher Appreciation Day and Youth Day promotions for this Saturday’s Buccaneer football game. The 16th-ranked ETSU football team hosts Delaware State at 7:30 p.m. in Greene Stadium.

ETSU Athletics invites teachers to the game with free admission when showing a valid personnel ID, while children 12 and under will also receive free admission with a paying adult. During the game, the teachers in attendance will be recognized during a timeout and ETSU Athletics is asking fans to send in videos supporting their favorite teacher(s). There will be an opportunity for the videos to be featured on the video board throughout the game. For the Youth Day promo, we are asking parents to send photos for our Just Jump “Kickoff Kid of the Game.” Please email your videos and photos to Director of External Operations and Equity & Inclusion Calvin Claggett at [email protected].

“Teachers play an important role in all of our lives and they have been asked to go above and beyond during the COVID-19 pandemic," said Matt McGahey, Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Operations. "This invitation to watch ETSU football is a small gesture of our appreciation for all that they do for our children and within our communities. We look forward to honoring our teachers and providing an entertaining night this Saturday at Greene Stadium.”

ETSU football is 2-0 on the season after beating Vanderbilt in the season opener, while a stadium record 9,720 fans saw the Bucs defeat UVA Wise in the home opener last Saturday, 45-14.
