SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Sept. 27, 2021) – For the third time in four weeks, an ETSU Buccaneer has earned the right to call himself a Southern Conference Player of the Week. Tyler Keltner (Tallahassee, Fla.) earned SoCon Special Teams Player of the Week after his performance in ETSU’s 55-48 overtime win over Samford.
Keltner, earning his second career SoCon Player of the Week honor, connected for 13 points against the Bulldogs. The Florida product finished with a perfect 7-for-7 mark in PATs and 2-of-2 in field goals made. Keltner delivered when ETSU needed him the most, sending the game into overtime as time expired following his 27-yard chip shot.
The sophomore place kicker also did his job in the kickoff game, racking up 490 yards in eight kickoffs. Keltner averaged 61.3 yards per kickoff and recorded one touchback in the win.
Keltner and the Bucs are back in action on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff in the team’s SoCon home opener against Wofford.
