Johnson City, Tenn. -- The East Tennessee State University athletic department announced today that Tiras Wade has signed a National Letter of Intent to join head coach Ed DeChellis' basketball program for the 2001-02 season.

The Tampa, Fla. native, averaged 29.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game last season. He was a two-year starter for head coach Adrian Johnson at Tampa Tech High School.

The 6-7 wing player earned All-State honors after his stellar senior season. He was a McDonald's All-America nominee and earned All-County honors.

"Tiras is a very skilled offensive player," DeChellis said. "He has the ability to play the two, three or four positions at ETSU. He provides versatility because of his size and athletic ability."
