SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - Dimeco Childress hit a free throw with 1.2 seconds left to give East Tennessee State a 66-65 win against Wofford on Saturday night.
Wofford's (12-15, 7-9) Ian Chadwick scored 10 points in the final 39 seconds, including three free-throws with two seconds left to tie the game at 65-65.
On the in bounds pass, however, Chadwick collided with Childress at midcourt. Chadwick was whistled for his fifth foul.
Childress made his first free-throw attempt but missed the second for ETSU (18-9, 13-3). The Terriers' desperation toss missed. Childress finished with 19 points.
The Terriers stayed close in the second half despite shooting less than 30 percent.
The Buccaneers led 36-35 at halftime and took their largest lead of the second half at 60-55 on a pair of Cliff Decoster free-throws with 49 seconds left. He finished with 12 points.
Chadwick finished with 21 points to lead Wofford while Mike Lenzly and Lee Nixon each scored 15.
