Streaks ... Junior shooting guard Dimeco Childress has scored in double figures nine times in the first 12 games ... He has scored nine points in each of the other three contests ... Childress 15-game streak of making at least one three pointer was snapped at Chattanooga when he shot 0-of-3 from behind the arc ... Junior point guard Cliff Decoster has scored in double figures in three of the last four games ... The Bucs have outshot their opponent in six of the last seven games (Virginia Tech) ... ETSU has dished more assists than its opponent in nine of 12 games this winter ... Childress, Decoster, and senior forwards Adrian Meeks and Renaldo Johnson are the only four players to score in every game this season.

Emergence of a Senior ... After struggling early in the season, senior guard D.J. McDuffie has emerged as one of the Bucs top offensive threats ... In the last four games, McDuffie has scored in double figures three times (16 at Va. Tech, 17 vs. Ferrum and 16 at UTC) ... During that span, McDuffie leads the team with a 14.2 scoring average ... He has dished nine assists and produced eight steals ... The Greensboro, N.C. native is shooting .579 (22-38) from the field ... Coming off the bench, McDuffie ranks third on the team with 26.5 minutes played in the last four games.

Southern Conference Leaders ... After 12 games this winter, ETSU ranks among the Southern Conference leaders in many categories ... ETSU leads the SoCon in assists per game (15.08) and ranks second in three-pointers made per game (6.25) ... The Bucs rank third in scoring margin (+6.2 ppg) and field goal percentage (44.9 percent) ... ETSU ranks fourth in scoring offense (74.7 ppg).

Individual Leaders of the SoCon ... Junior Dimeco Childress ranks eighth in the Southern Conference in scoring (15.2 ppg) and seventh in free throw percentage (82.8 percent) ... Childress ranks second in 3-pt. field goals made/game (2.67) and fifth in 3-pt. percentage (44.4 percent) ... His seven three-pointers at Vanderbilt is the most prolific in that category this season ... junior Cliff Decoster ranks 11th in assists/game (3.42).

Strong off the Bench ... The Buccaneer bench has proved to be a valuable resource in the past seven contests ... ETSUs bench is outscoring the starters 283-278 (40.4-39.7) in that span ... Senior D.J. McDuffie has led the crew ... The Greensboro, N.C. native, has averaged 10.3 points per game in the last seven games ... The ETSU bench has outscored its counterpart in each of the last three games and in seven of the last eight contests.

ETSU led 59-17 at halftime and opened to a 72-point advantage, 101-29, with 4:38 remaining in the second half ... Dimeco Childress netted a team-high 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting ... point guard Cliff Decoster dished five assists and thieved five steals ... Jerald Fields (13) and Ryan Carson (11) also scored in double figures ... freshman Zakee Wadood grabbed a season-high seven rebounds ... The Double-Double Club ... Junior guard Dimeco Childress entered ETSUs double-double club with a 15-point, 11-rebound performance in a 73-63 win at James Madison (Dec. 30) ... senior center Renaldo Johnson was the first member of the double-double club for the 2000-01 season ... Johnson netted 12 points and grabbed 10 boards in the 87-76 loss at Vanderbilt (Nov. 24) ... During the 1999-2000 season, Leo Murray led the team with six double-doubles while Adrian Meeks notched the teams other three double-doubles.

On His Way to 1,000 ... Senior D.J. McDuffie needs 158 points to become the 21st player in ETSU history to eclipse the 1,000-point mark ... With 15 regular season and at least one Southern Conference Tournament game remaining, McDuffie has to average 9.9 points/game to reach 1,000 ... The Greensboro, N.C. native, has netted 842 career points (124 as a freshman, 298 as a sophomore, 313 as a junior and 107 as a senior) ... Trazel Silvers is the most recent entrant to the 1,000 point club, tallying 1,257 career points fom 1991-94.

On Television ... The Bucs have two scheduled appearances on television during the 2000-01 season ... Their TV debut came on January 2, 2001 when ETSU fell at Chattanooga, 67-58 ... ETSU will also be televised when it hosts College of Charleston at 7:30 p.m. on February 6 ... Both games are carried by Comcast/Charters Sports Southeast (CSS).

The Head Coach ... Fifth-year head coach Ed DeChellis has compiled a 54-69 (.439) record at ETSU ... He is the sixth winningest coach in Buccaneer basketball history and trails fifth-place Jim Halihan by three victories ... Madison Brooks won 370 games from 1948-73 ... DeChellis came to Johnson City after 10 years as an assistant at Penn State University.

On the Bench ... Joining head coach Ed DeChellis and second-year assistant Hilliary Scott are two new assistant coaches for the 2000-01 season ... Tom Conrad comes to ETSU after serving the past four years as head coach at Charleston Southern ... Conrad led the Buccaneers to their first-ever NCAA Tournament bid in 1997 ... Scott Wagers also joins the staff, after serving as a high school head coach for the past nine years ... Wagers compiled a 120-24 record at Robinson High School in Tampa, Florida in his five-year tenure.

The Buccaneer Radio Network ... WJCW-AM is the flagship station of the Buccaneer Radio Network. The network will broadcast every mens basketball game and the coaches show. Chip Kessler will serve as the Voice of the Bucs.
