JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) - Dimeco Childress scored 18 points and had five assists as East Tennessee defeated Ferrum, 109-68, on Thursday night (Dec. 21).
East Tennessee (4-6) took the lead less than four minutes into the game on a layup by Ryan Lawson that made the score 4-2, and the Buccaneers never trailed Ferrum (5-4) again.
After building a 20-point lead in the first half, East Tennessee went on a 17-7 run early in the second half, capped by a layup by Gerald Fields that made the score 67-35.
D.J. McDuffy had 17 points for East Tennessee and Sam Oatman had 14, all in the second half. Cliff Decoster, Isaac Potter and Zakee Wadood added 10 each.
William Jennings was the only Panther player in double figures with 13.
