Prior to ETSU: Upon entering his senior season at Detroit Allen Academy, Williams was a three-year starter and a 1,000-point scorer … In fact, he had a total of 1,259 points in three seasons at the prep level and was just 315 points shy of his school’s scoring record before overtaking that mark in his final season at Detroit Allen … in addition to those offensive numbers, Williams had already  accumulated a school record 387 assists and 200 steals in his career, to go along with 292 rebounds, before playing his senior season … a team captain who was ranked by one recruiting service as the 25th best player in the Michigan 2016 class, Williams Jr. averaged 25.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 6.6 assists during his junior campaign. During that season, he earned multiple first-team honors and was a second-team All-State selection by Michigan Prep Hoops.
