Blacksburg, Va.-- The East Tennessee State University mens cross country team finished third and the womens team placed second in the Virginia Tech Cross Country Invitational held today at the Virginia Tech Cross Country Course in Blacksburg, Va.
ETSU freshman David Haefner led the Bucs, as he finished in 12th place with a time of 27:36 on the five-mile course. Virginia Tech claimed eight of the top nine spots to claim the individual title. Mike Christman won the individual title by posting a time of 26:35.
In the womens race, Virginia Tech claimed the first six spots to claim the womens team title. Techs Kristin Price posted a 5,000 meter time of18:26, a full minute behind the course record set by former All-American ETSU star Catherine Berry, to win the individual race. ETSUs highest finisher was senior Emily Campbell, as she recorded a time of 19:26. Roseline Addo was the second Buc finisher, as she finished in ninth place overall with a time of 20:06.
The Bucs return to action on Septmeber 29, when they travel to Boone, N.C. for the Blue Ridge Invitational.
