BOONE, N.C. (Oct. 17, 2008) - The ETSU women's cross country team faced some of the toughest teams in the region at Friday's Blue Ridge Open, and the Buccaneers finished 23rd overall from the Don Kennedy Trails, located at the State Farm Complex.

Fellow sophomore runner and twin sister Tesha Haggard (Morristown, Tenn.) battled through the tough field of 194 runners and completed the difficult 5K course in 20:00.

Clemson claimed the team title by finishing the evening with 73 overall points. High Point (84 points) and Coastal Carolina (111 points) rounded out the top three spots.

ETSU returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 1, when the Buccaneers travel to Macon, Ga. for the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship.
