NEW ORLEANS (February 24, 2015) – The ETSU Cross Country program earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors on Wednesday with the men’s team compiling a 3.3 grade point average while the women’s team produced a 3.42 GPA.

To earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors the teams must have at least a cumulative team GPA of 3.0.

ETSU is one of just two other Southern Conference schools to have both the men’s and women’s cross country programs receive All-Academic honors. Overall, six SoCon members were recognized.

In the fall, 13 total members of the ETSU cross country program were named Fall Academic All-SoCon, with six coming from the men’s team and seven coming from the women’s team.

On the women’s side sophomore Macy Carrier (Bluff City, Tenn.) registered a perfect 4.0 GPA, and was one of just 12 SoCon student-athletes to do so out of 308. Sophomore Carl Oberfeitinger (Kingsport, Tenn.) led the men’s team with a 3.74 GPA.
