Men's Golf In Seventh After Two Rounds of The Intercollegiate

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- The East Tennessee State men’s golf team shot a two-round 580 (288-292) to tie for seventh after two rounds of play in The Intercollegiate from Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C.

The Buccaneers are tied with Augusta State, 13 strokes back of the leaders, North Carolina State. Sophomore Thomas Lee led the Buccaneers on Saturday, firing a first-round 67, the best round of his ETSU career. Lee shot a 73 in his second round of the day, placing him in a four-way tie for fifth. He is five shots back of the leader, David Sanchez of N.C. State.

Senior Chris Wisler made a big move in the second round, shooting a second-round 70 after a first-round 74 to finish the day in a tie for 15th. Sophomore Adam Riddering had a solid day on the links, shooting a two-round 146 (71-75) to find himself in a tie for 25th. Senior Pat Beste was the next ETSU finisher, tying for 41st at 6-over par (76-74=150). Sophomore James Johnson was the final ETSU finisher, tying for 48th at 7-over par (76-75=151).

The Buccaneers return to action on Sunday morning in the final round of The Intercollegiate from Chapel Hill, N.C.
