JOHNSON CITY, Tenn.-- Seniors Chris Wisler and Pat Beste fired matching 3-under par 69's to finish in a tie for twelfth and lead the 19th ranked East Tennessee State men's golfers to a tie for twelfth after the first round of the Rolex/Golf World/Palmetto Dunes Collegiate Invitational from Arthur Hills at Palmetto Dunes Resort in Hilton Head, S.C.

The Buccaneers shot a combined 287 (+1) on the day and are tied with 13th ranked TCU and 17th ranked Florida, 19 strokes behind the first-round leaders, No. 1 ranked Georgia.

Wisler and Beste are in a thirteen-way tie for twelfth with, among others, No. 1 Bryce Molder of Georgia Tech, sixth-ranked David Miller of Georgia and 11th ranked Johan Kok of South Carolina. Cody Beyer from Arizona leads the individual standings after shooting a 7-under par 65 after the first 18 holes.

Sophomore James Johnson finished in a five-way tie for 67th after shooting an 2-over par 74. Sophomore Thomas Lee shot a 3-over par 75 to finish one shot behind Johnson in a three-way tie for 72nd. Sophomore Adam Riddering shot a 4-over par 76 to finish one shot behind Lee in a seven-way tie for 75th.

The second round of the Rolex/Golf World/Palmetto Dunes Collegiate Invitational will be held on Saturday, November 4th, from Arthur Hills at Palmetto Dunes Resort in Hilton Head, S.C.
