Johnson City, Tenn. -- The Bucs shot a 306 in the second round and a 304 in the third and final round to finish in a tie for 15th (313-306-304=923) of the Duke Golf Classic that concluded Monday from the Duke Golf Club in Durham, N.C.
The Bucs finished the tournament tied with Virginia Commonwealth, 37 strokes behind team champion, Virginia Tech.
The Bucs were led by junior James Johnson who had a solid finish, tying for 10th place at 6-over par (73-76-73=222). Fellow junior Adam Riddering was the next ETSU finisher, tying for 52nd at 16-over par (78-78-76=232). Just two shots behind Riddering was ETSU freshman Cennydd Mills, who finished at 59th at 18-over par (78-79-77=234).
Freshman Marco Trejos shot a final-round 78 to finish in a tie for 72nd at 22-over par (84-76-78=238). The final Buccaneer team finisher was freshman Noel Kavanaugh, who ended the tournament in a tie for 76th at 24-under par (84-76-80=240). ETSU freshman Jeremy Hobson, playing as an individual, finished in a tie for 79th at 26-over par (81-82-79).
