Men's Golfers in 13th After Second Round of Carpet Capital Classic

Johnson City, Tenn. -- The East Tennessee State men's golfers shot a 16-over par 304 today and are in 13th place after the second round of the Carpet Capital Classic from The Farm in Dalton, Ga. The 25th ranked Buccaneers shot just one stroke higher than they did in Friday's first round (303-304=607) and are 45 shots behind the tournament hosts and second-round leaders, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (280-282=562). Freshman Marco Trejos continues to pace the Buccaneers after shooting a 1-over par 73 on Saturday. Marco is currently in a tie for eighth place at 2-under par (69-73=142). Junior Adam Riddering made a great improvement in the second round, shooting an even-par 72 on Saturday after carding an 83 on Friday. Riddering has moved 20 spots up the leaderboard, finishing the second round in a tie for 54th at 11-over par (83-72=155). Freshman Cennydd Mills is just one stroke behind Riddering, locked in a tie for 57th at 12-over par (77-79=156). Junior James Johnson finished the second round in a tie for 66th (78-80=158) after shooting a 8-over par 80 on the second day of play. Freshman Jeremy Hobson is in a tie for 71st (79-82=161) after shooting a second round 10-over par 82. The Buccaneers will tee off Sunday morning in the final round of the Carpet Capital Classic from The Farm in Dalton, Ga. Live scoring of the tournament can be followed at http://live.golfstat.com.
