Johnson City, Tenn. -- The East Tennessee State men's golf team is tied with host Ohio State University after the second round of the Ping/Golfweek Preview Invitational from the OSU Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.
The Bucs shot a 10-over par 293 on the day, and find themselves 14 shots behind team leader Clemson.
Senior Adam Riddering made the biggest move of the day for the Bucs, shooting a 1-under par 70 in the second round to move into a tie for 10th at 1-over par (73-70=143). He is six shots behind the leader, Ari Savolainen of Florida (71-66-137).
Junior James Johnson and freshman Cennydd Mills shot identical rounds for the second consecutive day, today shooting 3-over par 74's after firing 1-over par 72's yesterday. The pair find themselves in a tie for 22nd at 4-over par (72-74=146).
Freshman Noel Kavanaugh was the next Buccaneer finisher, in a tie for 51st at 9-over par (76-75-151)after shooting a second-round 4-over par 75. Freshman Marco Trejos rounded out ETSU's day on the links, tying for 65th (75-79=154) after firing a 8-over par 79.
The Buccaneers will tee off Sunday morning in the final round of the Ping/Golfweek Preview Invitational from the Ohio State Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio. Live scoring of the tournament can be followed at http://live.golfstat.com.
