MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (March 14, 2005) - Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) did it again.

Firing a three-round score of 2-under-par 214, Davies captured the individual championship at the Gen. Jim Hackler Invitational Monday at the TPC of Myrtle Beach. For Davies, it was his third collegiate individual title and his second in two weeks, after having won the Seminole Intercollegiate championship just eight days ago back on March 6.

"Rhys is really playing well," said ETSU head coach Fred Warren. "He is showing people just how good he can be. He is always working to be a more consistent player and he is doing just that right now."

Davies, who has held the lead in each of his last six rounds, helped the Bucs to a seventh place finish as a team, 19 strokes off the pace set by team champion and host Coastal Carolina. Davies bested Coastal's Dustin Johnson and Notre Dame's Shane Sigsbee by one stroke.

As for the rest of the Bucs, freshman Cian McNamara (Limerick, Ireland) led the way and finished tied for 14th at 9-over for the tournament, while senior Cennydd Mills (Cardiff, Wales) placed tied for 30th at 13-over-par.

The Bucs will enjoy a two-week break before returning to action on April 2 at the Cleveland Golf Classic in Augusta, Ga. For more results from the Gen. Jim Hackler Invitational, see below.
