Davies earns third straight PING All-America First-Team honor

         WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (June 2, 2007) - PING Division I All-America selections were announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America Saturday following the final round of the Division I NCAA Championships at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club. A total of 10 players comprised the first team.

 

ETSU's Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales), Florida's Billy Horschel, Dustin Johnson of Coastal Carolina, Chris Kirk and Brendon Todd of Georgia, Arizona State's Niklas Lemke, Jamie Lovemark of Southern California, Clemson's Kyle Stanley and Dawie van der Walt of Lamr garnered PING First-Team All-America honors.

 

For Davies, this marks his third consecutive PING First-Team All-America selection. The senior competed in his fiinal collegiate event this past week at the NCAA Championships, finishing a historic career that included numerous program records, including an ETSU-best 10 individual wins (10). A resume that includes school marks for single round and three-round score, Davies also finished with incredible marks for career scoring average and will compete in his third Palmer Cup and second Walker Cup later this year.
