WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (May 30, 2007) - As the ETSU men's golf team began play Wednesday in the first round of the NCAA Championships at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club, the Golf Coaches Association of American named three Buccaneers to its PING South All-Region team.

Senior  Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales), junior Gareth Shaw (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) and freshman Seamus Power (Waterford, Ireland) were all named to the South Region squad, along with 13 other players from institutions such as Wake Forest, Georgia, Florida State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Florida. All three ETSU players enjoyed strong campaigns in 2006-07, with Davies earning the nation's No. 1 ranking for several weeks in the spring, Power capturing the Atlantic Sun Conference individual championship, and Shaw earning A-Sun First Team honors.

The PING All-Region teams consist of the top 15 individuals in their region in the Individual Ranking System. Additionally, any player ranked nationally in the top 75 according to the Golfstat or the Sagarin rankings not included in their regions top 15 are added to their All-Region team. Members of the PING All-Region team are automatically eligible for PING All-America honors, to be announced following the NCAA Division I Championships.

Davies is a two-time, first-team All-America selection.
