TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 5, 2007) - Posting a 4-under-par 68, ETSU senior and the nation's seventh-ranked player Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) jumped into the top spot on the individual leaderboard Monday after second round play in the Seminole Intercollegiate hosted by Florida State at the Golden Eagle Country Club.

Davies, who currently stands at 3-under 141 (73-68) for the tournament, leads by one stroke over North Carolina's Reed Darsie, Auburn's Patton Kizzire and N.C. State's Brad Revell. Davies' efforts - along with a 3-under 69 from junior Cian McNamara (Limerick, Ireland) - enabled the No. 16-ranked Buccaneers to post a team score of 291 and move into a tie for eighth place on the team leaderboard. The Bucs will enter the final day of play 16 strokes off the pace of 12th-ranked North Carolina, which currently leads the team competition by one stroke over 30th-ranked Auburn.

"Rhys is leading again and that's great individually," said ETSU head coach Fred Warren. "Team wise, we had two good scores, but unfortunately we still had to count a high score. It's been disappointing because we're posting some quality scores. It just shows we still have some things to work on."

Along with Davies, other ETSU results of note included a tie for 41st by freshman Seamus Power (Waterford, Ireland), who struggled with an 8-over 80 on Monday after posting a 2-under 70 in the first round. McNamara is currently tied for 48th, while junior Gareth Shaw (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) is tied for 55th.
