JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (June 23, 2008) - Having earned a program record 20th trip to the NCAAs and a Top 20 ranking this past season, the ETSU men's golf team accomplished great things on the course. However, the team replicated those successes in the classroom as well.

As a team, the Buccaneers posted a 3.46 grade point average, with senior Gareth Shaw (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) and sophomore Seamus Power (Waterford, Ireland) earning their place on the list for the 4.0 Club thanks to having perfect academic grades during the fall 2007 and spring 2008 semesters. Along with Shaw and Power, every other member of the team met requirements to be listed on the Buccaneer Honor Roll - which included senior Cian McNamara (Limerick, Ireland), junior Jordan Findlay (Fraserburgh, Scotland), and freshmen Rhys Enoch (Cornwall, England), Simon Doherty (Belfast, Northern Ireland) and Paul O'Kane (Castledawson, Northern Ireland).

While Power and Shaw were named to the Dean's List, four of the team's six players enjoyed GPAs of 3.68 or better to earn Atlantic Sun All Academic Team honors.

"This was a great year for us academically," said ETSU head coach Fred Warren. "It was a successful season for us both on the course and in the classroom."
