ETSU men's golf moves up in new national rankings

            JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 9, 2008) - Fresh off a third place finish in last weekend's Administaff/Augusta State Invitational, the ETSU men's golf team moved up several spots in the most recent national collegiate rankings.

 

            The Buccaneers, who finished 18th in last year's NCAA Championships, are now ranked 20th by Golfstat.com, and have moved up to No. 21 in the most recent Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. In the individual rankings provided by Golfweek, senior Gareth Shaw (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) has moved to No. 16 in the nation after finishing second in the Augusta State event.

 

            ETSU will return to action April 21-23 at the Atlantic Sun Conference men's golf championships in Atlanta, Ga. The Bucs will be looking for their second straight A-Sun title and the program's 22nd overall conference championship.
